8.0 RUN HDPE LINER A part liner will be run on the upper laterals from the Vertical well back to ~50m above seam intersection. To do this the liner is pumped down the drillstring. On the final lateral the liner will be run all the way back to surface and suspended from the wellhead. 50mm OD PE10 liner is supplied in both preslotted and blank drums. Run part liner into upper lateral (s) 1. Establish length of HDPE to be run to lay liner from TD (Intersection with Vertical well) back to 50m above the point of entering the coal seam. Calculate capacity of DP from this point back to surface and convert to pump strokes. Pre-weld and re-spool blank and slotted sections as required. 2. RIH with 3-1/2” OEDP and tag the cavern in the vertical to confirm that you are at the correct depth. Pull back and layout tagging joint. (make sure that all DP is drifted to 2 7/16”) 3. Land OEDP in rig slips with tailpipe set within 9m of cavern. 4. Hold TBM and conduct JHA re running HDPE 5. Install 3-1/2” IF stab valve and 3-1/2” IF pin x flange adaptor side entry sub with knife valve fitted into 3-1/2” OEDP box. Connect up side entry sub to water supply 6. Install Gallagher Industries HDPE injector and make up to flange adaptor. Anchor injector into rig mast. Connect up hydraulic hoses to rig’s casing tong hydraulics. 7. Set up HDPE drum on stands at end of cat walk 8. Remove the swab cup from the dart and fit dart to 50mm HDPE Pipe and very lightly tape the wings closed, stab the HDPE with dart through the injector into drill pipe. 9. RIH until predetermined length of pipe is in well, (Depth markers are stamped on the HDPE) Cut off with hack saw and release free end. 10. Once HDPE free end has entered DP then rig down injector head and remove side entry sub. 11. Install tag joint of DP and make up THD, slowly lower entire drillstring until the end of the OEDP is in the cavern. Pull back 0.3m. 12. Bring mud pump online at slowest rate. Monitor pressure and watch strokes as the liner is pumped to bottom and enters the cavern 13.Trip out with the drillstring, keeping hole full of water. From experience you will see; a significant drop in circulating pressure as the anchor leaves the OEDP and a significant increase in water flow at the vertical well 14. Strip out with the drillstring, keeping hole full of water. Run full liner into lowermost lateral 15. Establish length of HDPE to be run to lay liner from TD (Intersection with vertical well) back to surface. Pre-weld and re-spool blank and slotted sections as required. 16. RIH with 3-1/2” OEDP and tag the cavern in the vertical to confirm that you are at the correct depth. Pull back and layout tagging joint. (make sure that all DP is drifted to 2 7/16”) 17. Space out with pup joints to put tailpipe as close as possible to cavern, land OEDP in rig slips. 18. Hold TBM and conduct JHA re running HDPE 19. Install 3-1/2” IF stab valve and 3-1/2” IF pin x flange adaptor side entry sub with knife valve fitted into 3-1/2” OEDP box. Connect up side entry sub to water supply 20. Install Gallagher Industries HDPE injector and make up to flange adaptor. Anchor injector into rig mast. Connect up hydraulic hoses to rig’s casing tong hydraulics. 21. Set up HDPE drum on stands at end of cat walk 22. Remove the swab cup from the dart and fit dart to 50mm HDPE Pipe and very lightly tape the wings closed, stab the HDPE with dart through the injector into drill pipe. 23. RIH until full length of pipe is in well, (Depth markers are stamped on the HDPE) Cut off ~3m above floor with hack saw. 24. Strip injector head and side entry sub off over the top of the OEDP and HDPE in the mast. 25. Pick up tag joint of DP, strip over cut off end of HDPE and make up THD, slowly lower entire drillstring until the end of the OEDP is in the cavern. Pull back 0.3m. 26. Bring mud pump online at slowest rate for 5 mins to confirm HDPE has exited DP and entered cavern and anchor wings can open. 27. Break out 1st connection, pull HDPE up ~1m and trim off (The intention is that free end of the HDPE should float ~1m below the rotary table as the OEDP is retracted from the well) 28. Strip out with the drillstring, keeping hole full of water. 29. Pick up 10’ x 2-3/8” EUE tubing pup joint and make up to tubing hanger (API 6” x 2-3/8”EUE) Strip over HDPE, lower and land tubing hanger in tubing head. 30. Nipple down BOPs 31. Trim excess HDPE and install Xmas tree. Do you know what I am setting up?
