8 years sober today!!! Woohoo! ***warning, this post is going to be a long one*** It has not been easy...several times this year, I struggled with my sobriety but thankfully, I am still sober. When life got difficult or SUPER amazing, my old way of thinking popped right up and told me to get my party on. If you think sobriety is easy, think again! I thought for sure by now, I wouldnt be tempted, but I am...often. My life sober is SO much better than it was when I drank. Since becoming sober on this day 8 years ago, I have become a certified teacher, moved my family to Great Falls, and found my purpose in life (which luckily for me is also my job) and adopted an amazing girl, Keziah. Im happy to report Karli doesnt remember the old drunk me and Keziah never knew her, which is the main reason I stay sober. (Sorry that you do, Kimmie) I try really hard not to be that person ever again. I still make bad choices once in awhile, but they are not nearly as bad as they were when I drank. Especially in the men department! LOL I have a lot of people to thank for helping me stay sober when I was tempted to drink in the past year... Beth Juneau, Kimmie, MicheleandMike Murray, Jordann Lankford and Patty Hodson. If I have forgotten anyone, please forgive me, Im old. :) Thanks to every single one of you. I welcome many more sober years to come.
