9/11 was such a strange day... I had just come from PE where Id heard Mr. Slayton, (Josh Slayton, Kristin Slayton, your dad broke the news!) the groundskeeper, talking about a building exploding somewhere. I arrived to Mrs. Rathel s Bible class where the news was playing the live feed of the second tower falling but it was not long before the announcement came to continue our lessons. Ironically, our lesson was watching the Left Behind movie which looked almost identical to the newsfeed. My prayers go out to all who were affected especially Sean Donnelly and his family who lost an uncle as a firefighter in the Twin Towers evacuation process and to my military friends including Alex Elrod, the late Chad McCamish, Trey Brown, Omar (Linda Peralta), and Theotis Almikel Taylor who all served our country in the Middle East as a response. Let me know if I forgot you but with this thanks also comes the hope that a military response will not always be the answer. You are our face to the world so represent our hearts as much as our courage!
