9/2/2014 We saw a proud STAG with a huge rack, and a doe laying in the highland grasses today, just outside of Kirkwall. It was powerful and beautiful. CELTIC STAG Symbolism . . . The stag of ancient times was considered a beast of royal lineage, an incarnation of woodland gods, and associated with fertility. White stags were especially revered and as they were thought to originate from the Otherworld and thus had immense power. The white stag (or doe) was said to represent the ancestors of the Celtic people and was thought to usher in profound change. Following a white stag was said to lead the person into contact with supernatural beings. The act of hunting (spiritual seeking) was symbolic of the pursuit of wisdom. Because of their fine-tuned senses, the stag is said to be able to guide a person through confusing and difficult situations by allowing them to see through any illusions. The Celts drew heavily on nature to understand their own doubts and fears. The stag is the perfect symbol of the metamorphosis and growth of the soul allowing development of all levels of consciousness. We visited a sweet, hand painted, Italian church that was built during the Second World War. The pictures say more than I can ;) THE GREAT U OF STEMSTER - little is known about this circle. It is shaped in a U pattern, and not a full circle. The stones do not face inward like most stone circles, but are all pointing out from the circle, as if they are emitting a great deal of energy to the surrounding sites and grid lines. I was told it was an Earth grail!
