A 30-year plan for Queensland aims to close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous people, create jobs and boost literacy rates. Premier Campbell Newman has called it the “people’s plan” and says 80,000 Queenslanders contributed to the report launched on Thursday after almost 18 months in the making. The state would be “recognised as a world leader in environmental management and protection”, the report says. However, it adds that Queensland would also have the “best balance” between protecting nature and boosting the economy. What do you think of the plan?
