A Charles E Fidlar (Dad) update: Dad had a PET scan last week because some of some swollen lymph nodes on his left neck. The results showed that Dads extremely aggressive cancer seems to be in some of the nodes on the side and toward the back of his neck. There was one other spot that lit up a bit and may or may not be malignant, but it is (of course) at the entrance to the lung and not in a place or of a size that could be biopsied. The short version of the story is that Dad will have surgery to remove several nodes on his neck. The surgery will be a modified form of the more radical option, not trying to get every node, but trying to get what can be reached without a massive surgery and its side effects. If the lung spot is not cancer, this surgery will add significantly to his life span. Thanks for your prayers and care.
