A Civilized Nation Still Recognizes Abkhazia and South Ossetia Now that Tuvalu has, apparently, chosen the peace-and-freedom bloc over the war-and slavery bloc, Russia has but three allies recognizing the sovereign statehood of Abkhazia and South Ossetia: Nicaragua, Venezuela and...(drum roll)...Nauru, the worlds smallest country except for the Vatican, situated on a small rock in the Pacific composed largely of bird droppings. From this resource they enjoyed one of the worlds highest per capita incomes until the island had been completely strip mined of phosphate for the worlds fertilizer. They next went in for offshore banking ;) and becoming a refugee detention center in exchange for Australian aid. The success of this last project is evidenced by detainee behavior such as hunger strikes, attempted suicide and self-harm including sewing their lips together (-Wiki), culminating in a major riot. They have also formally recognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia as sovereign nations in exchange for more than $50 million in aid...from Russia.
