A Crossfit gym The equipment staples at a Xfit gym are: - dumbells, ketelbels & barbells - squat racks - gymnasts hanging rings - lots of space to run, jump, stretch, bodyweight exercises - rowing machines - boxes to jump onto - skipping rope Yes. Thats pretty much it. No stepper, treadmill, leg curl machine ... zillion of other machines you normally see at a gym. How then do you get fit / strong? Its all about the coaches. I use the word coach here as these guys arent your regular gym bro trainers. Theyll demo the moves. Teach you new skills. And guide you throughout the workout, motivating, correcting, pushing. A Crossfit gym is all about its coach quality. You arent a client paying for PT. Youre a budding athlete. And theyll train you like one (scaled to your ability). Do give this a shot. Even if you dont have a crossfit near home - look at the website, study the free workouts and try training like one. Sprints, jumps, runs, pushups, skipping ... many many combinations are possible, You can start at home with a minimum of space with just a bar and a skipping rope.
