A Dream for a Peaceful Bikol By: Ka Randy Alfonso A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - Lao Tzu, a mystic philosopher of ancient China I always hear the officers and members of 9th Infantry Division Philippine Army that they are conducting activities here in Bicol to build the PEACE among the community, as it is according to their mission. These activities including Bayanihan Forums for the farmers, land owners, and other government agencies; tree planting, clean-up drive; the conduct of youth leadership summit, and many others. Now, therefore, we are in a journey towards a peaceful country leading by the Army of our government. Like what Lao Tzu said, this step now is directing towards a peaceful community. We can now see the light but we all need to step forward. We need to be together. It is sad to say that there are people cross over our way. They use their foolishness. They kill the Army soldiers. They are…such a member of Communist People of the Philippines- New People’s Army- National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF). They create fire fights against Philippine Army members. They conduct ambush through their SPARU like what they did in Anislag, Daraga, Albay previously. They corrupt the mind of the people. They corrupt the mind of the youth. They teach the youth for bad activities. They influence them of being lazy and with having crab mentality. They advocate being such pigs in the poor shelter creating the noise when they feel hungry. They never follow the rules of our government. They never obey the manmade laws. They never obey the Heavenly laws. They never dream what the Army Soldiers’ dream. They never dream what I dream. I wanted them to follow my journey, spearheaded by the Philippine Army. I wanted them to accept the reality that they are in a very wrong thinking and wrong doing. I wanted them to accept and change. I wanted them to get away from foolishness. I wanted them to act like human beings with creative mind, with heart and soul. I wanted them to practice manage the simple blessings to them. Please be with me, so that peace will be with you, my dear CPP-NPA-NDF members. What you sow is what you reap. The phrase appears as “whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap” in the King James Version of the New Testament. Specifically, the quote is found in Galatians 6:7-9, a book made up of letters written by Paul, a disciple of Christ. The members of CPP-NPA-NDF always create noise. The NPA members always create tragedy. They create fire fights and they advocate “Digmaang Bayan”. If this foolishness dominates in our region, no one will celebrate with freedom. No one can enjoy his life. What do they want after Digmaang Bayan? Are they think that tha youth will have good future? Would they become rich? Imagine that in just having a flood, hundreds or even thousands of people cry out loud and asking for help, how much more with such Digmaang Bayan? Foolish! Foolish! Foolish! Foolish! Did I say “foolish”? Foolish! If we put a seed of bad idea on our environment, then we reap bad life situations. If we always looking for fight, then we find it. And if we look for freedom, through our loving heart, at the glance of an eye, we can have it. If we dream of peaceful community, and they are true, then it can be in a reality.
