A FLOOD WARNING is in effect for Lafayette, St. Landry, and Acadia parishes until 10:45am. Heavy rains continue over areas that have received more than 8 inches of rain during the overnight period. Many streets have water over them, and more flooding is expected this morning. Do not drive through high water. A FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the Vermilion River in Lafayette. The river is over 12.6 feet and is expected to crest at 14.5 feet. Additional rains could change this flood forecast. Bayou Vermilion at Carencro is nearing 16 feet. Flood Stage is 17 feet. It is forecast to rise to 21.3 feet tomorrow. This is just below the record of 22.5 feet set back in March of 2012.
