A GOOD Morning for ISIS! Its the end of the irresponsible - TopicsExpress

A GOOD Morning for ISIS! Its the end of the irresponsible breeding of Isis, she will never again have deformed puppies, never again be used as a cash cow, but will be a treasured pet, someones beloved friend- not an exhausted ATM! Isis is looking forward to post-surgical recovery exercise, her last puppies were reportedly only five months old when she gave birth to our babies, 6 of whom died early due to INBREEDING. The city of Alamogordo SHOULD be enforcing the laws on the books that would have prevented all this, but there has been a total lack of enforcement of these laws. Where is my proof of this statement? How can I MAKE this bold assertion? Because when we investigated this policy at the city administration office, we found NOT ONE SINGLE BREEDING PERMIT ON FILE, in the face of breeder after breeder advertising puppies from $100-$2,500 each, for YEARS- even on a prominently displayed ad bench across from Walmart! AVNM did what the city of Alamogordo and the county of Otero have NOT DONE- WE found out that RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS of money being earned by puppy mills and backyard breeders- are being collected with no gross receipts paid, no permits obtained, no health certificates for the puppies or breeding dogs, no business licenses! While the ordinances are lax in the county, they are specific and well written in the city of Alamogordo, and in the books since the early 90s. But no one in the city sees fit to call on these puppy advertisers and force THEM to follow the laws that exist. The result of lax enforcement of business fees collection? We continue to hear that there is no money for additional law enforcement, school books, teachers, our reserve officers have to pay for their own uniforms and guns, without salary or benefits, and on and on and on. While Otero sales taxes and gross receipts fees continue to rise in the face of a lethargic (everywhere but at the puppy mills) economy. This is an ongoing travesty and its requiring an unbelievable effort to even get the city to ACT on their own laws. Meanwhile the UNSOLD puppies continue to flood the animal facilities (remember our Charlie with hip dysplasia at 4 months of age?), more strays have to be collected at taxpayers expense, and we pay for more pets to be euthanized when dumped at the pounds. Because ITS TOO EASY HERE NOT to FOLLOW MODERN INTELLIGENT PROTOCOLS of LEGITIMATE BREEDERS with the SAME RESPONSIBILITIES as any other business owner! Meanwhile one situation like this is OVER. BUT what horrors it has revealed to us, as just one of SEVERAL litters like this born here RECENTLY, for these reasons. While officials of the city of Alamogordo write to each other in emails that this situation appears to have been resolved...REALLY? How? This is a CONTINUING story and its not going away until things change. ITS 2014, New Mexico- and its TIME FOR A CHANGE FOR NEW Mexicos ANIMALS, TOO! (And I deliberately stressed the New.)
