A Gulf Air Airbus A330-200, registration A9C-KI performing flight GF-154 from Bahrain (Bahrain) to Manila (Philippines), had completed a seemingly uneventful flight. Aircraft cleaners were cleaning the airplane and removing the garbage bags from the lavatories, when one of the personnel saw one of the bags moving and found a newborn baby boy covered with tissues and with blood in the bag, who had remained silent all the time. Medical airport staff checked the boy and found him in good condition. The baby boy decided to let some soft cry be heard after he was cleaned and fed some milk. Airport staff named the boy George Francis using the IATA code GF of the airline. Authorities were investigating and tried to find the mother. On Sep 15th police was able to identify the mother as a Philippines National via blood stains on her passenger seat. She had left for Saudi Arabia as contract worker two years ago. She is now in custody and may face charges for abandoning her child though Authorities pledge assistance. Gulf Air said their employees promised medical and financial support to the child. The Airline Operators Council in Naia said the group would provide George Francis with free plane tickets and an educational plan until he turns 21.
