A LAST WORD ON THE OSUN ELECTION We have all witnessed the triumph of good governance over irresponsibility. The victory of morality over immorality. Yet, for all our celebrations, we have just two people to thank; Osun Governor, Ogbeni Aregbesola and the good people of Osun. I specially thank the Governor for providing his style of ideological based compassionate leadership at a time when the Nigerian leadership cadre is populated by back-alley miscreants and people of low character. I am grateful to the people of Osun for their unparalleled commitment to their Governor and their understanding of the dynamics at play in the election. Dynamics that threw up the option of the enthronement of the worst form of mediocrity or that of enlightened good conscience. The people of Osun opted for the later. If only the Nigerian mass across the national geographical space could be this insightful. For this I will be eternally grateful to the virtuous people of Osun. And to my friends and Comrades, I doff my hat. We decidedly confronted evil in its den...dared it to bare its fangs and successfully ran it out of town. It was, indeed, an exhilarating experience. And to those my friends that determined to side with infirmy at this time, I sympathise with you. Even as I remonstrate with you, I desire that you constantly be reminded that some of us can be committed to do things without the expectations of reward. Some of us are just wired like that and it has been the story of our life. From here, we proceed onto some other fields seeking out the good of our land and the advancement of a people so despicably treated in the hands of our twisted leaders that feel no qualm at literally stealing opponents and visiting brute force on them just to secure power only for the purpose of power. Another day beckons.
