A LITTLE LONG BUT A MUST READ... A WORD FROM THE LORD! Thank you PASTOR for sharing your life with us and for surrendering your life for Christ, His Kingdom and His people. You dont deserve honor...NO!...you deserve DOUBLE HONOR! You pray for people without them knowing. You endure enormous spiritual attacks as you stand in the gap for them and their families. You counsel people who others have rejected. You spend endless hours in the word of God and prayer to help people know God and His freedom. You spend your time mentoring people. You let others grow by sharing your platform and allowing others to preach. You stand in the path of spiritual attacks against your church and the people you serve. You are accused wrongly at times. You are blamed wrongly when things are bad and you are overlooked when things are good. You have been abandoned by close friends and people in your church without even given a reason why. You are unappreciated at times but still appreciate everyone who comes across your path. You hurt for those who are hurting you. You show endless amounts of mercy even to those who call you their enemy. You put out fires behind the scenes. Some of you work outside the church. Some of you do not have health insurance. Some of you are underpaid. Some of you get very few vacations. If that is not hard enough all of you carry the good news to the lost. You think of the lost...you try to get others to think of the lost...everywhere you go you want to see people come to know the one who saved you. Yet you do it all for your love for Christ and serving His people. You live in an attitude of gratitude. You quickly forgive. You love everyone. You work on the church when no one is around to help. Pastor!!! Keep your head up... Some of us see what you do and want to say... THANK YOU PASTOR for all you do. Even though many congregation will not have a pastors appreciation day for you... Why? They will forget...they will be too busy...they will not take the initiative to rally the troops to honor their pastor. We say to you Pastor...Your position is needed. Without our Senior Pastors we would not have a church. You are our leader appointed by God. Your life is needed. Because of pastors our lives are changed. With that said... I feel compelled by the Spirit of the Lord to do what the bible says to do. Honor those who serve God in preaching and teaching...and say We love you Pastor and want to say HAPPY PASTORS APPRECIATION MONTH. You are appreciated and loved by many. Take time in your church to honor your pastor. I want to thank my Pastors who taught me so much. Thank you Pastor Dan Kruse and Pastor Don Spradling. ESV 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 - We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. ESV 1 Timothy 5:17 - Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. ESV Romans 10:14 - How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? ESV 2 Timothy 4:2 - Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. ESV
