A Lufkin State Supported Living Center employee was arrested Tuesday after a manager allegedly saw him punch a resident who wears a medically-required helmet in the face several times. In a written statement given to the sheriff’s office, the man claimed the living center resident left his room without shoes to go to the gym, and when he went back to his room, fell into a wheelchair’s tires, causing the injuries to his face. lufkindailynews/news/local/article_6538f750-0d63-11e4-9317-0019bb2963f4.html (Story by JESSICA COOLEY/The Lufkin News; subscription or 99-cent day pass required.)
