A Mothers Day thought. Although it does not diminish the unbelievable challenge of being a mother, Ive come to realize that some women do have it a lot better than others. Having good parents, a supportive family, an education and a good man go a long way to making the hardest job that anyone could ever do a little bit easier. On the opposite side of the spectrum I dont think that a bad mother, who makes bad choices, especially repeatedly, deserves much more than sympathy for whatever fuels her bad decisions, as her hard times are often created by her own hand. The mother who is under-recognized is the one who did more with less. Who acknowledged her mistakes, dug for the self truth, confronted the problem in the mirror and sacrificed her personal ambitions to honor the duty of every mother which is to go to whatever lengths are necessary to provide a child with its right to have a chance at life, opportunity and the pursuit of happiness. There are women who have fought fiercely, often in silence, who gave when they truly didnt have it, who overcame unseen challenges that would have been overwhelming without having to mother at the same time. Though their struggles, sacrifices and successes may never be known, and recognized, they have a satisfaction, a confidence, an achievement that absolutely cannot be topped. If this is you, I cant describe my respect for you, just know that you have done something that no man will ever surpass.
