A NEIGHBOR ON MY PROPERTY This is another neighbor here at my house that I have been seeing on a regular basis and following. Snakes use their tongues and a special structure in the roof of the mouth called the Jacobson’s organ to “taste” what is around them REMINDER: Nonvenomous snakes have ROUND pupils (not vertical ones/cat-like). For those of you who fear snakes-- remember those are your fears--your emotional response but it does not negate the fact that these reptiles are integral parts of our ecosystems.
