A New York man sold his truck and took out a $20,000 loan in order - TopicsExpress

A New York man sold his truck and took out a $20,000 loan in order to fly a veterinary specialist from Japan to operate on his beloved dog, Esme, who was recently diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition - despite his best efforts, he was still short on funds to make the surgery happen. According to Fridays publication of the Ithaca Journal, one woman who read about the mans ambitious endeavor decided to make a sizable contribution. On Friday morning, Sandra Bass contributed a jaw-dropping $10,000 to Dylan Raskins GoFundMe fundraising account - she also left a message stating, in part: You are a wonderful, caring unusual man. I wish Esme a speedy recovery. Esme suffers from mitral regurgitation, which is causing fluid to build up in his lungs. Until the surgery can be performed, Esmes heart continues to enlarge, his breathing is labored and his life expectancy is severely compromised. Dr. Masami Uechi and his surgical team will be flying out to operate on the eight-year-old dog in November. Raskin commented on the upcoming procedure: Esme -- by the grace of God -- continues to hang tough. Caring for him is a 24-hour, 7-days commitment. Masami and his crew will be flying in to New York on November 17th and operating on my boy on the 19th. I pray we make it and I pray the surgery is a raging success and buys me many more years with ole Esme -- the brightest, most sensitive, most hysterical little boy east of the Mississippi. As you can imagine, Im a nervous wreck; my nerves are ablaze.
