A Place Called, “Holy” What does it mean to be Holy? By definition it means to be dedicated or consecrated to God. The word sacred has the same definition. The Biblical word translated holy means to be set apart or dedicated to God—to belong to God. We each have a unique one-of-a-kind relationship with God because we belong to Him. We also have a unique relationship with one another. We are the Church of the Living God. We are eternally connected to each other and to God and we are to live Holy lives. Purity does not make us Holy. Holiness produces a follower of Christ who strives for purity. To “Be Holy” is a command to be in the right place with God. To Be Holy is not a goal, it is a place. It is being at the right place in your relationship to God in order to be able to grow in knowledge and discernment.
