A Prayer from a Brother of mine...SERIOUSLY, What do You want me to do? Heavenly Father, I dont want to trifle so I come before You in the Name which is above all names, Jesus Christ. Your Word talks of love, peace, hope but also of judgement and righteousness AND sacrifice. I am older now, I served my Country and I served Your Church. I have personally witnessed the horrors of war but still I have been blessed to possess a tender heart. Im not a violent man. I seek forgiveness & peace with all. Yet, as I pray my mind fills with the horrors in the news where I served of the beheadings, crucifixions, raping, young girls & women sold into slavery and even in the USA the banning of the very Bible I believe holds Your Truths. My heart sinks within me with grief but as it hits the foundation of my convictions my faith calls me into action. The winds of violence are blowing across the world and I fear its here as ambers waiting for dried wood. Our borders are as porous as a screen in a dust storm. Your Word says, Faith without action is dead and Philosophers say, All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. So, LORD, I ask, What would You have me to do? What DO WE do as I and so many of us feel our Government is impotent or worse, negligent? While some huddle in prayer, some of us have spent a lifetime of being answers to others prayers. What do You want me to do? Heavenly Father, Ive prayer for years. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done. I know that Mercy calls for action not passive submission. Youve seen Kingdoms rise and crash. Youve seen through the ages promising leaders fail in the hour of decisiveness. If You take Your Hand off this Divine human experience called the USA we will unravel! Surely, there are still those who seek Your Mercy and Grace who walk in Your truths. Not everyone is corrupt, not everyone has forsaken Your way. In the midst of this blowing threatening wind, WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO WHO SEEK YOUR FACE? Oh, God, help me to know what You want me to do! I pray this with an agonizing heart. Amen. ...
