A Prisoner dies in Centra Jail, Srinagar, Family alleges torture: One prisoner Mushtaq Ahmad Gilkar son of Ali Mohammad Gilkar resident of Kolipora, Khanyar in Srinagar died in Central Jail Srinagar last night. Mushtaq was arrested under FIR number 23/09 under section 8/20 NDPS of Police Station Rainawari, Umer Asif Sachnews Jammu Kashmir reporter said. The family of the youth allege that he had torture marks on the body. “Police is lying that my brother died of heart attack. But the truth is that he had a scuffle with Jailer last night and he was beaten ruthlessly by the security men inside the jail,” Mushtaq’s brother alleged. Police denied the allegations leveled by Mushtaq’s family. According to a police official, “Mushtaq Ahmad suffered a heart attack on Friday evening. He was immediately rushed to JLNM hospital in Rainawari where doctors declared him dead,” “He was playing volley ball yesterday in the jail premises later watched TV as well,” the official said. The family members blocked the main road in Khanyar today and raised anti-police slogans.
