A READING from: In The Company of The Holy Mother Page 313 A Devotee: On the occasion of the festival of the birth of Lord Krishna in 1913, I went to Jayrambati along with a few brother disciples. One of us even had his young son with him. We reached Koalpara monastery at dusk. As we had short leave, we would not listen to their requests to spend the night there, but pushed forward towards Jayrambati, the same night. It began to rain heavily on the way. It was pitch dark and the roads were full of water and slush. In spite of all these difficulties we arrived at Jayrambati; but as it was very late, Mother was not informed about it that night. When we went to pay our respects to her next morning, she heard of our troubles and scolded us saying, My dears, the Lord has taken care of you. I wonder how many snakes you stepped on in the dark, in all that rain-water and mud! It pains me when you do these things. You must not be so rash! Mother, we pleaded, we were so eager to see you and our leave is so short that we had to make haste. That is quite natural for you; but it pains me. Mother replied.
