A Re-Post :) Ive been reading a lot lately, all kinds of stuff, about organizations. You know, the ones that are blasting into the future, and those not so much. For those organizations taking a quantum leap forward I started to connect the dots and realized that a Key Driver is Transparency, easy to say, but its hard to do for established organizations. But hard to do doesnt mean it cant be done, it means that you better have a Trail Blazer of a Person who has created a Critical Mass, and can Bust A Move, or over time you will go away no matter your honorable intensions. So (to me) here is what Transparency Looks Like: 1) Authentic. The intentions are honest & genuine. 2) Systemic. Disclosure is a routine practice, not some periodic occurrence. 3) Proactive. Information needs are anticipated & acted on. 4) Timely. Information is delivered to the right place at the right time. 5) Understandable. Information & data are in plain language & easy to understand. 6) Judicious. Dont release more information than people can make sense of. 7) Credible. Info. is accurate & verified. 8) Contextual. Info. conveys the true state of affairs. 9) Comparable. Organizations can be evaluated by some accepted or common standard of behavior. 10) Interactive. Transparency includes two-way communications & exchanges of information and feedback.
