A Season of Gratitude - A Message of Thanks Giving Please follow the link below to read the Thanks Giving message that I delivered on Sunday, 26 November 2006, the day after my fathers (John Wallace Brown) funeral. November is a special month for me, not only because it is the month in which we traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving, and for the record, I believe that it should be spelled Thanks Giving, but because of some events that occurred in my life and in the life of my family in November 2006, that created a shock wave at first, but with time healing has taken place. It was on 20 November 2006, almost 7 years ago that I received a telephone call at work informing me that a missing persons report had been filed for my father. At 6:30 that evening I was again on the telephone, this time with detectives from Salisbury, Maryland informing me that the body of my 71-year-old father had been found in a landfill area (trash dump) floating in water. To date there has been no legal resolution in the case, but I have personally resolved that perhaps it is not for me to know what happened that day, or why. I miss my father very much, but I can be thankful for the counsel and the love that he gave me, and I have memories that I am thankful for and will always cherish. He helped mold and shape me into the man that I am today and for that I am eternally thankful.
