A Taste of South Africa at the 2013 Newcastle West Show Celebrity Chef, Cookery Tutor and Broadcaster, Rozanne Stevens, will be in Newcastle West this month to make guest appearances at various events being held during the 2013 Newcastle West Show. Founded in the 1920s, the show has been extended this year from a one day event to a weekend affair of family fun and entertainment to complement the traditional horse and agricultural show. On Friday 19 July the West Limerick town’s Nash’s Lane will be transformed into “Nashville” for a fundraising barn dance in aid of the show and Friends of St Ita’s Hospital. South Africa’s Rozanne has recently launched her Relish BBQ & Al Fresco Food cookbook and will oversee the BBQ including the roasting of a pig on a spit whilst guests enjoy a bucking bronco, live music by Straight from the Crate and a DJ until the small hours. On Saturday Rozanne will host an exclusive BBQ Masterclass in the Red Door Gallery on the Square and on Sunday 21 July she will travel to Ballynoe, Castlemahon to demonstrate her expertise at the Newcastle West Show’s Food Village, a new addition for 2013. This year’s show will feature a number of new family focused attractions as well as the old favourites such as the cattle, sheep and poultry classes, dog show, show jumping and dressage to name a few. Admission to the over 18s Nashville Barn Dance is by ticket only of which there is a limited number (€25 which includes entertainment and food) and they will be on sale in the Red Door Gallery on Saturday 1pm – 6pm. Alternatively, please call 086 251 7086 or 087 900 2890 Monday – Friday during business hours. To book one of only 20 places on the BBQ Masterclass (€10), please contact Sharon Noonan on 087 099 5741.
