A UN report published yesterday stated the global cost of avoiding catastrophic climate change through a worldwide move away from fossil fuels. QUESTION: Just how much would it cost to have a world powered by clean energy? ANSWER: Not only would global economies continue to expand, a clean energy shift would take just 0.06% off expected economic growth! Even more amazing is the fact that this projection doesn’t even take into the account the benefits of cutting greenhouse gas emissions - such as reduced air pollution and increased energy security. Here in NZ, a clean energy economy would in fact go much further and power huge economic growth.
