A WIN THAT SHOCKED THE PUNDITS I want to thank each of you who voted for me for Lt Governor. It is very humbling to receive such widespread from all across the state. We won virtually every mid-size, and large county in the state and many of the smaller rural counties as well. Getting 41.5% of the vote in a statewide campaign against the incumbent Lt Governor and two well known statewide officials could not have happened without grassroots support and an incredible team of volunteers in every county. I give all the credit to the people and all the glory to God. From Lubbock to Tyler, DFW to the greater Houston area, San Antonio to Midland, and all points in between, we had volunteers putting out yard signs, handing out campaign materials, and calling friends and neighbors to go out to vote. People everywhere took me under their wing and said they would help us win. They did. I also want to thank the best campaign team any candidate could have. They are small in number but you would think they were a team of hundreds. We still have 3 more months of the campaign to go before moving on to take on the Democrats in November. I started working right away Wednesday morning to ensure our win o May 27th. I will need all of you to stay engaged and be ready again in a few months to seal our victory. For those who voted for another candidate I want to extend a personal invitation to join our team of volunteers and voters. We are going to win in May and would be honored to have you a part of the team. I also want to thank Todd Staples who showed a lot of class in calling to congratulate me. He ran a hard race. We were the only two to participate in every debate and forum. I wish him the best.
