A Word to the WISE about Fire Prevention…..Learn from my MISTAKE! Washing and drying clothes at our house is a daily event….. what about at your house? Not overly exciting except for last week the normal routine washing and drying of our cloths ALMOST resulted in the need for a new dryer and its contents as well as a new home and all its contents. A FIRE started in our dryer as a result of excessive lint in the vent. Thankfully, we were HOME and the SMOKE DETECTOR let us know we were about to have a major problem and the FIRE EXTINGUSHER was in good working order next to the dryer. The Moral of the story is simple: -clean your dyer vent TODAY -Mark your CALENDAR to do it REGULARLY -REPLACE the BATTERY’S in your SMOKE DETECTORS -Get a NEW FIRE EXTINGUSTER #1 DON’T USE YOUR DRYER WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT HOME!!!!!!!
