A bad situation all around. Complaint withdrawn is much different than proven innocent—especially in a college town where football reigns supreme and pressure can be put on anyone getting in the way of that. Not saying thats the case here, but after watching the Trailerhassee Police Department cover up for Crab Legs Winston, who knows anymore... As the son of a Canes coach, you hope that Treon Harris was truly involved in a misconception that will go away without an stigma, but when you hear attorneys resorting to shaming a potential victim (re: as if someone cant be assaulted if she already had relations that evening), it comes off as a cheap, last-ditch way of proving ones innocence. Also convenient that Florida always seems to clear up matters the Friday before a game as that was the case years back when Tony Joiner saw his felony burglary charge dropped the day before playing LSU (while Gators fans sent death threats to the owner of the towing company.) Whatever the case, football—college and the NFL, as well as athletes, administrators and top-brass—all need to clean it up. Way too much of this stuff going on. At least at Miami, a disgusting act by two scumbag now former players was dealt with swiftly and harshly, as it deserved to be.
