A basic ritual magick practice originating in The Order of the Golden Dawn in Britain at the turn of the 20h century. Its quite a powerful psychological experience and (from a secular-psychological perspective) is pure visualization. The use of Hebrew letters vibrated as sounds comes from Kabbalistic practices- co-opted by Christians several centuries ago. All modern magick is based in part on principles of focused attention and visualization. One has to believe of course to get results as is true of all endeavors. Self-doubt sabotages all outcomes- especially magickal outcomes. A magick spell is often (but not always) a theatre for one.
