A beautiful story happened to me in Brisbane a few days ago. I was with a friend and we were going to meet a young lady who wanted some info. about the Camino. This young lady gave me a gift. As I unwrapped it I saw a candle and on that candle was written the following words: LAC DU BOURGET - Lake Bourget. This would mean nothing to you but to me it was something unbelievable. I was flabbergasted and I am still shaking about it while I am sharing this moment with you my friends all around the world. Unbeknown to this young lady, I was born in a French town on the edge of this lake. From Boots to Bliss: The train line into Aix-les-Bains follows the edge of Lake du Bourget...It looks as though it is snuggled into the arms of the surrounding mountains. There was still snow on the mountains when I arrived. It was majestic and my heart swelled at seeing such beauty. Tears flowed. I could not stop them and I realised how much I was still connected to this place and how much I had missed it. My thoughts went to my parents. I was coming back home for a little while as I had done years before, but this time my Maman and Papa would not be there waiting for me. The realisation was too great to bear. Was there a message for me? I was going to light this special candle for Christmas, but I have decided otherwise and I lighted it this afternoon for you, my friends all around the world. My wish at this Christmas time is that this flame brings you compassion, joy, peace and love to you and your loved ones and have a thought for the homeless, the unloved, the lonely and let bring peace on earth.
