A bittersweet day it is. Last year Steven Smith and I took Paul to Syracuse, NY to see ATTILA for their Halloween show aka Paulies Birthday Show. It worked out that way because it was the closest location to us on that tour.This place was as small as the basement in Croc and it was packed with drunken hooligans in costumes, but it was a solid show, and one hell of a way to celebrate a birthday. I added the only YouTube video I could find of another amazing show we saw together. This one definitely was on top. I just remember us going wild during their set. So many things to be thankful for, and this is just another thing. You would have turned 25 today and while I will be thinking a lot about you today, like any other day, I will still enjoy this day and celebrate in hope that you can do so vicariously through me, and everyone else wishing you a happy birthday, wherever you may be. While this may be the bitter, the sweet is also nothing to be overshadowed. It is not just Halloween, but it is also Josh Traubs birthday today. So while Ill honor Paulie today, most likely by taking a shot of Jager, I did not forget about you Josh. I hope to see you at some point in the day and can be a part of your celebration. The reason why October birthdays are the best is because if you have one and have several friends/family with one, each individual birthday turns into one mini chapter, of many. of several combined birthday celebrations. While Paulie isnt physically here to celebrate his, he still kinda did when he helped celebrate McFunnys birthday, as well as mine and Beaners. Heres too good friends with October birthdays. May the celebration never stop. Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween! BOO!
