A blank canvas can be easily filled up with so many things... lines, colour, texture etc. If you are satisfied, you go on doing what you were pursuing. This satisfaction alone cannot guarantee the emergence of that ecstatic feeling with which you know that the time has come to drop the tool. You may deface it again and again until you come to two things. You either accept or reject it. Can life be a blank canvas that you can reshape all the time? I am not sure. Some images always resurface as ghosts. You are helpless against them. Do not destroy it. It is a part of you.
