A brief and hurried (therefore imprecise and incomplete) passing thought on knowledge and wisdom ... Knowledge is not simply a disconnected set of information, but a search for a causal connection between the apparently disconnected information through the construction of a plausible picture of the process with objectively verifiable predictions. Wisdom, on the other hand, is something much more than knowledge. Its in a way an integration of the self (with a broader perspective) with the broader whole at an impersonal level and trying understand the connectivity at a more fundamental level so as to strengthen the connections further and deeper (may be at a philosophical level whose scientific investigation may right now be beyond the scope). Wisdom is usually a long term process. As Bernard Shaw observed: Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. Its a statement of wisdom. Or as Emerson observed: Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Surely just as information is questionable, so are knowledge and wisdom.
