A brief update on how we are using some of the money donated by the patrons of the Lady Boys of Bangkok shows. At the Baan Khong Por children’s home there is an eleven year old girl names Daow who has a hole in the heart and the condition has got progressively worse and she is unable to take part in many day to day activities as she is left short of breath. Using the Thai health service it is not possible to get an appointment until November so we have offered to pay for her to visit a specialist in Bangkok this month for an explorative examination where they will insert a camera to ascertain if the problem can be resolved by using a balloon or it requires open heart surgery. The camera procedure alone will cost £600 and then there will be the cost of both the actual surgery and aftercare nursing. We have pledged £1800 of the money raised by the Lady Boys of Bangkok audiences towards the surgery and will then look again after the surgery to see if we can assist with the aftercare costs.
