A business owner in the North Loop IBIZ District offered to display Team Laura’s campaign’s signs. We were grateful and excited to have the visibility in the North Loop area! There was only one roadblock, Code Enforcement was called because of vandals and trash was dumped there. The owner was out of town and needed help. We pulled together volunteers and the neighboring North Loop businesses to clean up the property. Also, we were very fortunate that Gary Harris, owner of the Rundberg/North Lamar business, Amazing Locksmith Service, and his son, Jake, volunteered to remove the large, heavy items. He saved the owner over $600 in large item pick up fees…Thank you, Gary! After all our work, we received a wonderful endorsement from a resident of District 4, Gayla Bruce, “…Laura Pressley, Candidate for Austin City Council - District 4 doesnt mind getting her hands dirty with good old elbow grease! When one of the abandoned businesses on the edge of her district had been vandalized, Pressley, her husband and other volunteers, got out and cleaned up the eye-sore! Laura Pressley is a hands-on, can do person and she is the type of person I want on My City Council!” We really appreciate our volunteers and the local businesses that helped: Amazing Locksmith Service—Gary Harris and his son, Jake Room Service Vintage-- LuCretia Phara’s and Christopher’s Casbah—Janete Workhorse—Steve Vulcan—Thanks to Greg and Nic Revival Vintage—Sonia Berthas Paradise-- Ermine Vintage--Elizabeth Anderson Apparition Skateboards--Troy Bozeman
