A campaign of abuse against a Beckenham woman who dared to criticise the Thai royal family is finally over. Chatwadee ‘Rose’ Amornpat has dealt with intimidating tactics involving fake guns and animal poo since posting critical videos of the Thai royals on the internet. The 34-year-old, who moved to the UK in 2003, has also found herself embroiled in an extradition war between Thailand and the UK Thai authorities issued an arrest warrant to extradite her to face charges of offending the dignity of a reigning sovereign in April last year. The British government has refused, but UK-based Thai royalists have been taking matters into their own hands. They have filmed themselves with a fake gun spray-painting Thai flags on her old property, while another video shows a woman armed with eggs, and bags of fish guts and animal excrement. Hairdresser Ms Amornpat said: I used to be a loyalist, but then I watched documentaries on Thailand and realised whats going on. Since I was young I was brainwashed. Last in Thailand in 2009, she faces up to 15 years in prison if she returns. She said her own parents in Thailand filed charges against her last year after feeling harassed. The mum-of-two added: Im going to carry on, Ill never stop. When I found out what my parents did I was sad, I couldnt believe it. I never heard from them again. I wish for the day when democracy comes and I can visit. Ms Amornpat, who no longer lives at the targeted address, said: When they came to the house I was worried, I dont want anyone to get hurt. I know who Im playing with. The monarchy are billionaires, they can pay anyone to shoot me dead. Her ex-husband, 41, who does not wish to be named, said: People started turning up at my house looking for trouble. The health and safety manager said he and their children were inside the house on each occasion. He said: I thought we were in danger. Every time there was a knock on the door I worried. After my door was spray-painted my neighbour knocked and said you better see this. The next day I saw the video and the gun. A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: We are aware of this case and understand the police are in touch with the individual. The UK is committed to the freedom of speech and defends the right of individuals to express their views without the threat of intimidation or harassment. We have made clear to the MFA in Bangkok and the Thai Embassy in London, that we will not tolerate attempts to enforce Thai military decrees in the UK that are aimed at preventing freedom of expression. Thitipan Rungrawd, 34, of White City Estate, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and possession of an imitation firearm. Otherwise known as DJ Ken, he was sentenced to 10 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, 200 hours unpaid community service and required to pay £200 compensation at Bromley Magistrates Court on September 16 2014. Earlier in January two women aged 54 and 42 were cautioned for harassment, and a 41-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of harassment but released without charge.
