A child slipped away last night. She was a sweet angelic kindergartner, lost in a tragic accident. Sitting with her brother in a moment of playful mischief on the back bumper of the family van, unbeknownst to mom, who was backing out of a friends driveway thinking they were safely inside with the other kids. Mommy had the mind-numbing experience of realizing that her darling little girl had been killed when she fell from the bumper and was struck by the van. There are no words to express the compassion and anguish I have for this broken mothers suffering, and this little girls daddy and brother, and all the family and friends who are bereft at their beloved Bellas tragic death. This happened in Pomona, but it can happen everywhere. Bellas daddy, Bill, expressed desire that everyone reach out and hold their loved ones closer, love them dearly, and recognize how precious the time we have with them is. And so I shall. Onward, tearfully onward.
