A church classified by many in Haywood County as a significant part of history burned early Wednesday morning; however, according to the churchs pastor they will rebuild. Brownsville and Haywood County firefighters responded to a call at 3 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Nunn Road in Nutbush. The fire department said the church is a total loss and the fire is under investigation. John Vonson, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, said he has a committee of members looking for a new location to hold services for Sunday until a permanent solution can be found. He said the church has been a steady part of the community for almost two centuries.
