A citizen reported receiving a call from someone who claimed that if the citizen purchased a Green Dot gift card worth $155 and met the caller in a parking lot, the caller would give her a check worth $2 million and a Mercedes. The citizen hung up on the caller and later called police to report the incident. The CCSO is reminding citizens that scams attempts occur frequently and offers tips on its website about how to protect yourselves from potential scammers. The CCSO also recently arrested a man and a teenager for a burglary on Gadwell Place in Waldorf; arrested a woman for slashing the tires of a car belonging to someone with whom she has an ongoing dispute; and investigated a robbery that occurred in a parking lot on Business Park Drive in Waldorf.
