A close friend of my familys was diagnosed with motor nueron disease 5 years ago. He has lost all movement in his body save his eye which he uses to communicate with (via Eye-Gaze). Hes an award winning film director and poet. He is also currently raising 200K for a feature film called My Name Is Emily. The project is up on indiegogo (crowdfunding site) and needs support. Hes a remarkable man and an inspiration. When hes not writing for the Irish times or appearing on television Simon is talking on the radio. You may have heard him this week on Ray Darcy or Morning Newstalk (I recommend googling to hear his incredible story). RTE are filming him this afternoon and celebrities such as Daniel Day Lewis, Alan Rickman and Jim Sheridan have already jumped on board in support. So two things.
