A computer nerd Im not but I do pretty good. It started out that I couldnt get our wireless printer to connect to the router and it did before we moved it. I also had changed the password on the router. My HP printer didnt even see the SSID of the router, kinda strange. So I typed in 192.168.1.1 on the web and this will show you your router or it should. Poking around I can see all the computers on our WiFi and the address of the printer there. Then I seen something I didnt want to see. An address listed as an Android-33994587848744 using my router. This is no good. Back to the internet and they say to change your router SSID twice per year. Since Ive NEVER changed that stuff....in 12 years or so.........maybe it was time. It seems I had a piggy backer on my system and they could be up to no good. So I got in there and changed the SSID and the password again. My extra Android user disappeared and the printer hooked right up. Now Ive got to change a bunch of other passwords on my computer just in case it was a hacker. Technology is so much fun. So now you get to check your WiFi and see if someone is peeking over your shoulder. If you want to do this I would say its pretty easy. Public service announcement over.
