A cop came to our front door this evening to let us know that someone had hit and killed a deer on the street in front of our house. He said that someone from the city will be stopping by to remove the body, which was laying next to our mailbox. Whenever I see a dead deer on the side of the road, I dont give it much thought, but Im pretty sure that this is the one that has been cleaning out my bird feeder on a nightly basis. I felt a bit of a connection with this animal and I am sad that it died the way that it did. Rest in peace deer.
