A couple missing in the Kosciuszko National Park have been found. The couple, from Sydney, walked out of the bush into Thredbo Village about 9am today (Wednesday 28 May 2014). A major search had been underway for a 62-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man, since they called Triple Zero (000) about 2.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 May 2014), to report they were lost after going on a walk. A search was initiated by police attached to Monaro Local Area Command, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services, State Emergency Services and Fire & Rescue NSW. Extreme weather conditions, including electrical storms and heavy rain, hampered the search and prevented helicopters from assisting. Despite this searchers continued to 2.30am before being suspended. The search resumed at 6am and involved personnel from NSW Police, Fire & Rescue NSW, SES, and the Snowy Mountains Horse Riders group. The couple are reported to be in a good condition, however, circumstances of their night are still being established by police.
