A coworker noticed a dog panting frantically on the back ledge of a car parked by ShopRite today. Windows were barely cracked. I called Shoprite and asked them to page the vehicle owner. Someone called Stony Point police. When the dogs owner strolled out, her response was that she does it all the time and that the dog had a dish of water. Stony Point Police responded quickly, had her remove the dog from the car and after about 15 minutes, it appears that she was given a summons. Thanks Stony Point Police for responding quickly and PEOPLE! DOGS IN DISTRESS MAY NOT DRINK THE WATER YOUVE LEFT THEM. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES FOR ORGAN DAMAGE AND POSSIBE DEATH. New York State law prohibits keeping an animal confined in extreme temperatures...hot or cold. No need for mean spirited comments but if you see something similar, PLEASE do the right thing.
