A false assumption will most often lead to a false conclusion. As Followers of Jesus Christ it is absolutely imperative that we Establish what Truth is, where Its found and where It is not. For many years I embraced and espoused a white supremacist ideology, backed up and justified by Scripture. Heres the problem: In order to do that certain assumptions about the ten northern tribes of Isreal had to be made. Where did they go? Where are they now? How can we tell? So on and so forth. So, in order to validate my beliefs I would take information from another word, combine it with specific verses from The Word and Viola!, I had my truth. However, once I established parameters about where The Truth was found and where it was not, all of my beliefs and convictions began to fall apart. See, Gods Word needs no validation. It needs no corroboration. Scripture will interpret Scripture. And if we feel the need to go outside of Genesis to Revelation, we might find ourselves trying to adjust Scripture to our beliefs, rather than, adjusting our beliefs to Scripture. Deuteronomy 4:2 2Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Revelation 22:18-19 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
