A family in Westminster, SC lost everything in the world in a house fire Thursday morning (in todays Seneca Journal, wont let me link the story without paying $1.49). The family consists of a mom, and her 2 kids, a 17 year old boy, and a 13 year old girl, and a bedridden, elderly, newly widowed grandmother (who is currently placed in the hospital awaiting placement in a nursing home apparently). The family escaped the fire with nothing but their sleep clothes. I want to know if anyone would be interested in donating items to help this family get back on their feet. They have nothing. They are bouncing between friends and familys homes the newspaper says. The aunt of the single mother of the teens phone number is listed in the article for anyone wanting to help. I can contact the Aunt to see what size clothes the family needs if any of you want to try to donate some things to them (clothes, blankets, anything). Just leave a comment if you want to try to help. I dont know these people, just want to see if I can organize something to give these people some sort of jump start. It might work, it might not.
