A family of bears paid a visit to one of the research cameras at Newcomb campuss Huntingdon Wildlife Forest yesterday. In case youre wondering just what goes on at Newcomb campus: the Huntingdon Wildlife Forest is a 15,000 acre tract of Adirondack forest that was donated to ESF in 1932. Its the greatest asset of our Newcomb campus. The SUNY-ESF Adirondack Ecological Center manages the land, utilizes it for research, and supports and facilitates research done by visiting scientists and groups. This particular project, the Northern Forest Carnivore Project, is sponsored by the New York DEC.
