A father and son were taking their catamaran for a spin on Somerset Reservoir in Vermont when they noticed a lone squirrel swimming across the lake. They decide to rescue the waterlogged rodent and deposit it safely on dry land, which leads to some pretty fun Go-Pro footage. The obvious question is why was the squirrel out there in the first place? Well, it turns out that squirrels are pretty good swimmers, using their front legs to “dog paddle,” and their tail as a rudder. This little guy was probably okay to finish the journey on his own, though I’m sure the helping hand wasn’t unwelcome. That said, if you ever find a squirrel in a swimming pool, make sure to remove them right away, as they are unable to climb up the slippery walls and will eventually drown
