A few days ago we were contacted by a Humane Officer who was looking for help for a 14 week old pup who was abandoned outside of a veterinarians office overnight. He was left with a note that stated his age and that leaving him there was better than on the roadside or in the trash. It was quickly discovered his right hind leg was also broken in two places. Thankfully, he made it through the night outside alone in the cold and the vets cared enough to temporarily set his broken leg and sent x-rays along with him to the shelter. He joined us last night and this morning saw one of our vets who reset his fractured leg and put a more permanent cast on. He is now in a wonderful foster home, where he will be on 6 weeks of strict crate rest and will have weekly check ups to make sure his leg his healing properly. If all goes well, we hope to avoid having pins put in his leg as this would require subsequent surgeries to replace them as he grows. This little guy is an absolute doll, very low key, and super sweet. He is a little timid when it comes to men, but lots of positive interactions with men should help him gain more confidence and show him that there are lots of good people out there. Hes as cute as a button with the most adorable heart shape on his nose. Once his leg is healed and hes able to be neutered, hes going to make someone an awesome new family member.
